Department of Economics is founded with the inception of the institution ie in 1989. Prof Pakhare was the Head of Department for some years and after his demised Dr Vishnu Gumatkar has been working as the Head of this Department. The Department offers a Bachelor Degree – B. A. (Three years) and has been serving as recognized research Centre for Ph.D. in Economics. The department thrives to reach standards of excellence in teaching and research in economics. Department has very rich intellectual legacy and it has continued to enrich and deepen it further.
  Department organized One Week Workshop on Financial Literacy (Share Market) in collaboration with NSE and SEBI under ‘Kona Kona Shiksha’ program. ‘Economics Study Forum’ every year to provide academic platform, to enhance stage courage amongst the students and conduct many activity under this forum.
